
Paul Hardman
Paul Hardman is a Platinum Licensed coach with more than 40 years of experience in the industry in a range of different roles. Paul is a 2-time Olympic coach and has spent more than 10 years as an Australian National team coach, having been appointed to the Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan Pacific Games and World University games. Swimmers under Paul’s direct guidance have won medals at all the major international meets.
Throughout a long history of involvement in the sport, Paul has been:
- A recipient of the Australian Sports Medal
- NSW Coach of the Year on 2 occasions
- Australian Age group coach of the year
Paul has spent more than 15 years as Head Coach of the Carlile Club, 13 years as the Head Coach of Abbotsleigh Swim Club, 10 years in a private enterprise operating his own business at Willoughby Leisure Centre and Roseville College.
Paul’s origin in swimming coaching commenced at Narrabeen, and he has a strong desire to see Narrabeen recognised for the wonderful contribution it has made to Australian Swimming. Importantly Paul will want Narrabeen to remain a vital hub for swimmer development, open to all levels of swimmers, and recognised as a destiny for excellence in swimming teaching and coaching on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Haydn Belshaw
Haydn Belshaw has been in the Aquatic Industry for over 25 years as an industry-recognised Performance Coach. Haydn has placed athletes on the Australian Swimming Team, as well as the Australian Surf Life Saving Team, and is currently the Head Swimming Coach for the Vanuatu National Swim Team and National Lead for the Australian Men’s Water Polo Team (Swimming).
An eternal swimming enthusiast, Hayden’s expertise is broad and diverse. Haydn has been the Head Coach at Barker, General Manager at Aquabliss and has worked with more than a dozen private schools and councils to establish aquatic programs and facilities to maximise desirable swimming outcomes.
Today, Haydn loves nothing more than to impart his knowledge and expertise in all aspects of swimming from teaching and coaching to the delivery of million-dollar aquatic facilities for their respective communities. Heavily involved in industry teacher training and education, Haydn’s energy and resource will make a significant contribution to the strength and success of Academy Swimming- Narrabeen.

Sam Argue
Sam Argue is a local resident of the Northern Beaches who has coached in the local area now for the past 5 years. Recruited to the Narrabeen program in 2022, Sam brings youth and experience in coaching at a range of levels from development through to State and National level swimmers.
Sam has studied in areas of Sports & Exercise Science, as well as Sports Journalism. He is passionate about encouraging and developing swimmers in a high-performance environment and the importance of the shaping great technique from developmental squads to performance swimming. Sam holds both Competitive Strokes qualifications and Development Coaching accreditation.
As Senior Coach and a key member of Academy Swimming – Narrabeen coaching team, Sam delivers the daily training environment for all competitive swimmers and is committed to working closely with swimmers, parents, and the Narrabeen Swimming Club to ensure positive and holistic outcomes for all stakeholders.

Annaliese Melbourn
Analiese Melbourne has been a former Narrabeen swimmer herself. Analiese has recently retired her own 10-year career in competitive swimming, having competed at both State and National levels. Analiese commenced working in Learn to Swim programs locally, but her passion for competitive swimming soon led her back to Narrabeen. She is now working, alongside the coaching team at Academy Swimming-Narrabeen to continue to grow her knowledge and understanding of the sport. She has recently achieved her Development Coaching accreditation through SCTA.
Analiese is keen to pass on her competitive swimming experience to our swimmers of the future and work closely with the Narrabeen Swimming Club team in developing our Junior swimmers through to State and Metro carnivals, as well as our MC athletes to State and National champs.
Working closely with Sam at all levels of the program, Sam and Analiese are proving to be a supportive and formidable coaching team able to nurture and encourage swimmers towards their goals.
